20190623 Port Hope Trees
The Willow Beach Field Naturalists held an outing in Port Hope devoted to the observation and identification of trees in the downtown area. Due to the proximity to Lake Ontario and local topography, this area has a micro-climate which supports Carolinian tree species. Several of these tree species were observed during the walk which was organized and led by Gina Brouwer. A few members also observed an active Downy Woodpecker nest.
